This webapp simulates a farm with 4 cultivated plots.
Link to the documentationThe AMBHAS parameters were calibrated based on observed groundwater levels.
In the farms with a borewell and a pump, the pump characteristics were calibrated in the AICHA project.
We took 4 hours of electricity, which is the average for the area.
The scenarios correspond to the policies proposed by the WDD to help farms to adapt to climate change.
The S0 scenario corresponds to the historical scenario representing a farm with a rainfed cropping system and crops developed over 2 seasons, in kharif and rabi.
On the 4 plots of the farm there is the main crop of each season, namely sorghum in kharif and horse gram in rabi. In this system, there is no irrigation source (no borewell, no pond).
In this scenario, the cash-crop policy is implemented. Thus, the cropping system of this farm represents the main irrigated crops: Onion is grown on the 4 plots in kharif and tomato on the 4 plots in rabi.
To irrigate these crops, the farm is equipped with a 60 m deep borewell and a pump. The crops are irrigated by furrow, the main irrigation technique in Berambadi.
This farm is similar to S1_F in terms of assets, but in this system, we have a year-round crop intensification policy implemented, so we have three crop development seasons, kharif, rabi, and summer.
The cropping system in S2_F is similar to S1_F for kharif and rabi, with the addition of beetroot in summer. As in S2_F, irrigation is done by furrow technic.
